Florence Crittenton Family Services is delighted to announce they will be hosting a historical presentation on Tuesday July 25th 2023 at 5.30 – 7pm the Myrna Loy.
Local Historian Ellen Baumler, formerly with the Montana Historical Society, will deliver a fascinating presentation portraying the rich 125 year history of the Florence Crittenton Home in Helena. With incredible photos, notes from past ledgers, and anecdotes from her extensive research, Ellen portrays the heart and soul of this organization perfectly and gives an insight into the thousands of women’s and children’s lives that have been touched over the last century by this organization.
Florence Crittenton’s Executive Director, Carrie Krepps, will give a brief overview of the organization’s exciting plans for the next 100 years through the organization’s new campus, affectionately known as Project Sunshine.
Carrie Krepps said, ““We are so lucky to have such a treasure like Ellen in our community. Her gift for storytelling is unmatched and we are honored for her to join us for this exciting evening to share the rich history of Florence Crittenton.”
Ellen Baumler said, ”I undertook this project at the invitation of then executive director Pat Seiler back in 2000. Researching this little-known story both on the national front and in Montana was a long-term challenge. When I had the opportunity to present it to the National Florence Crittenton Mission Board members, they were captivated and remarked that no other state had done such an in-depth study. It is a story important to Montana and it is my privilege to share it.”
